The purpose of the Planning Commission is to advise the City Council on development in the community and make a formal recommendation on infrastructure improvements and planning and zoning issues in the city. General comments and questions related to planning and zoning issues in the city.
Members of the Planning Commission are responsible for assisting city staff with the administration and enforcement of the city’s comprehensive plan, zoning ordinance, and land use policies. Overall decision-making by the Planning Commission is based on whether the project is working toward the betterment of the city and it’s vision statement.
Planning Commission meetings are usually held the last Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at The Hokah Fire Department. However, scheduled meetings may be cancelled if there is a lack of business.
Members of the Planning Commission are appointed by the City Council for a three-year term. The following is a list of current members on the Planning Commission:
